Quartzite is a metamorphic rock that can form in many colors including white pink, and gray. Formerly a sandstone, greywacke, arkose or siltstone, quartzite consists of mostly quartz with minor amounts of mica, feldspar, magnetite, garnet and calcite among others. This fine- to medium-grained rock is very hard and tough.
