Pyrite, also known as “Fool’s Gold,” is a yellow to goldish-yellow mineral with moderate hardness. It forms natural cubes, octahedrons and pyritohedrons and may exhibit lines on the faces of the crystal. Pyrite samples occur worldwide and are important in the production of sulfuric acid.
An information card with details on the mineral formation, characteristics, and uses is included. Typical samples sizes are generally 1-2 inches in length or width but can vary based on availability and natural crystal shape.
