Snowflake Obsidian Igneous Rock
Snowflake Obsidian is an extrusive igneous rock that forms from volcanic lava. Major minerals include feldspar, quartz and mica. The traditionally black rock is speckled with white snowflakes that are actually small, white needle-shaped crystals that form in a circular pattern as the rock breaks down over time.
An information card with details on the rock formation, mineral content, characteristics, and uses is included. Typical samples sizes are generally 1-2 inches in length or width but can vary based on availability and natural formation.
