School Igneous Rock Collection - Set of 5 samples & flyers

Our igneous rock collections are great for students who are studying rocks and geologic processes. Each collection comes with a sample of basalt, granite, monzonite, obsidian, pegmatite, pumice, rhyolite, syenite, trachyte and volcanic breccia.  An identification sheet is also included which gives introductory information on the color, type, major and minor minerals, texture, uses, locales and unique features of the rock along with a sample photo.  The box includes five sets of rocks and five identification sheets.

The rocks can be stored in the cardboard box or have the kids decorate egg cartons to make a unique and personalized storage box. Hand magnifiers are sold separately and are great for use in rock identification.
