Lapis lazuli, also known as "lapis," is a blue metamorphic rock commonly made primarily of the mineral Lazurite (from the sodalite group) that gives the rock its blue color. The other primary minerals include calcite and pyrite. Lapis lazuli may also contain the accessory minerals diopside, amphibole, feldspar, and mica.

An information card with details on the rock formation, characteristics, and uses is included. Typical samples sizes are generally 0.5 to 0.75 inches in length or width but can vary based on availability. These samples are smaller than our common sample size.
