How many years of college do you have to attend to become a geologist?

You can earn a Bachelor of Science geology degree in four (4) years from a university. You can also get a Master of Science and PhD with additional years in graduate school.

  1. In the England & Wales (but not Scotland) it is three years for a BSc +1 year for a MSc

  2. In the US, you can get a geology in four years (Bachelor of Science) and if you choose, a Master’s degree in another two years. You can also go on to PhD in another two to three years.
