As we prepare for the trade show…..
Next month, Mini Me Geology will be exhibiting at Toy Fair 2009. While we are excitedly preparing for this trade show, a new law looms out there which could dampen our plan of launching many new products both at Toy Fair and later this year. I hope everyone is following the news related to the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). This law affects everyone! Manufacturers and retailers will endure soaring cost increases and paperwork headaches but consumers will also feel the brunt of this law when the prices of their favorite children’s products either increases or the companies just go away.
Some people have been saying that all of this is blown out of proportion by Mom bloggers and small businesses but here is a link to an article on the Forbes Magazine website, by Mr. Paul H. Rubin, who voices his opinion against this new law. He was the chief economist at the CPSC in the 1980′s. http://tinyurl.com/ddmvva
This article is part three in a series he has written about this disastrous law. There are links to parts one and two at the beginning of the article. I encourage everyone to read this and then call your congressmen and senators. Complaining to congress and explaining how this law will negatively affect you and your family is the only way to make a change.
So as we prepare for Toy Fair, we are writing and calling congress and hope that you are too. If you are going to be at Toy Fair next month, please come by and see us. We will be in booth #5646!
